The Right Way of Placing Blackjack Bets

To start playing blackjack, you have to place a bet. Once you are seated at a blackjack table, you have to prepare your bet according to the table's minimum bet. The blackjack tables are color-coded according to the minimum bets in each table.

For a red table, the minimum bet is the least in the casino. It could be three dollars or five dollars. If the blackjack table is green, the minimum bet is twenty-five dollars. For a black table, the minimum blackjack bet is one hundred dollars.

Once you are ready to place a bet and play blackjack, there are some things that you have to follow. You blackjack bet should be placed in front of you. There is either a square or a circle drawn on the felt covering the blackjack table to indicate the place where you should put your bet.

When placing a blackjack bet, you may use chips with different values. You have to arrange the chips with those of the highest value at the bottom and the least value at the top.

For security purposes, once the blackjack dealer finished dealing the cards, no blackjack player is allowed to touch their bets. In situations when you want to double (when you double your initial bet and you are dealt another cards) or to split (when you want to split cards of the same value into different hands), if you want to know your initial bet, the blackjack dealer will count your chips for you. This is done to ensure that no bet changes will take place once the blackjack game has already started.

After playing the hand, the blackjack dealer will move around the table to approach each blackjack player. He will pay the winning bets and collect the bets that have lost.

If you won, once the blackjack dealer paid you, you may take your chips and prepare your next blackjack bet. If you'd like to bet all of those chips for the next blackjack hand, you have to restack them into one. Again, the chips with the highest value should be at the bottom, while the least valued chips are on top.
